An effective way of feeding fluids and medication to small or young animals.
Non-toxic and dishwasher safe.
Comes with choice of 2 tips.
Maximum syringe capacity is 14ml (1/2 oz).
Select the correct tip:
Use the nipple tip – for thinner mixtures and medication
Depress the plunger fully into the barrel. Insert the tip into the fluid and then withdraw the plunger until you reach the desired amount.
or
Use the taper tip – for thicker mixtures and medication
Remove the plunger. Pour the fluid into the barrel until you have the desired amount. Replace the plunger carefully to avoid ejecting any of the fluid.
Angle the feeding syringe towards the animal’s cheek to avoid choking and dispense slowly and gently.
Use a the tip of a pin or scissors to make an appropriately sized opening in the teats, see figures 1 and 2. The opening must be kept small so that the animal does not choke or take in too much air.
The bottle must be cleaned after each use in warm soapy water (not exceeding 60°C) and then rinsed well in cold water to remove all traces of soap.
Fill the syringe with the appropriate liquid i.e. milk substitute, water or glucose and then attach the small teat.
Gently introduce this into the animal’s mouth while slowly pushing the plunger and allowing the animal to suck the liquid.
Ideal for puppies and kittens, as well as small animals like mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits and hamsters; and wildlife animals such as hedgehogs.
