Suffolk Herbs Borage
Description
What is interesting about Borage, is that it is the flowers that are also an edible part. The beautiful blue star like flowers can be used in salads to add the flavour of cucumber and even in summer drinks. The leaves can also be used and have the same cucumber flavour. Add the leaves or the flowers to an ice cold glass of water to make an especially refreshing drink for the summer. The leaves can also be added to a nice glass of Pimms!
Borage is very attractive to bees so will encourage them into your garden.
Height 80cm, Spread 60cm.
Sow Outside
In open ground at any time from October to February. Will grow in any soil but prefers well drained soil. Position in full sun.
Harvest
Leavescan be harvested any time and the flowers when they are fully open.
