Description

Exceptional bicoloured dwarf sunflowers, growing to around 90cm (3') tall, they make a more practical, garden friendly alternative to the giant varieties. Perfect for smaller spaces, front gardens and sunny borders, their beautiful vivid yellow blooms are accented by bronze mahogany central markings to create a bold and eye-catching show. A hardy annual, flowers the same year as sown.

Sow outdoors where they are to flower, 1.5cm (½”) deep directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Sow two seeds together every 45cm (18”). Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. Remove the weaker plant, which can be transplanted if desired. Water well until young plants are established. Or sow indoors 1.5cm (½”) deep, individually in pots of compost. Water well and place in a cold frame or greenhouse. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 45cm (18”) apart.
