Please note: Safety is one of the benefits of a breakaway headcollar versus a nylon headcollar. They are designed to break under extreme pressure, i.e. if a horse pulls back when tied up or the headcollar is caught on a fence or solid object. This normally occurs at the point of the check rings and can prevent serious injury.
We always recommend tying up with release knot and monitor difficult horses all the time.
