Description
Dwarf French Bean Stanley produces smooth, round slender beans 12-13cm long with excellent flavour. Very prolific, producing extremely high yields for the home gardener and is the reason it has become one of the biggest selling commercial varieties. Shows good disease resistance. White seeded and white flowered.
When to Sow Stanley Dwarf French Bean Seeds
April to the end of June. Plant out from May to July.
Where to Sow
Early sowings can be made underglass at a temperature of 16 C, sow into 8cm (3in) pots or modular trays filled with seed sowing compost. Outside sowings can be made from May onwards into the growing site 5cm (2in) deep. Sow 2-3 seeds every 20cm(8in) apart with rows spaced 45cm (18in) apart.
What to do Next
Bean seedlings sown underglass should be gradually hardened off before planting outside in late May to the above spacing, once all risk of frost has passed. Direct sown seedlings can be thinned out as required. Water regularly during dry weather.
Harvest
July to September.
Handy Tip
Sow small amounts of Dwarf French Beans at regular intervals to ensure a continuous supply throughout the season.
Nutritional Values
A good source of Pro-vitamin A, Vitamin K and Folic acid.
