Kings Seeds Beetroot Red Ace F1
Description
Beetroot seeds - Red Ace F1 is a very vigorous grower and produces outstanding quality and uniform roots. The roots are oval shaped and of the deepest red colour. Red Ace F1 is a regular show bench winner with no sign of inner rings.
Hardy Annual.
When to Sow Red Ace Seeds
March to July. Germination takes 12-24 days.
Where to Sow
Sow thinly in shallow drills 1.5cm (1/2") deep with 30cm (12") between rows. Sow in a sunny position.
What to do next
Thin the seedlings gradually as they grow to an eventual spacing of 10cm (4"). Do not transplant. Only needs watering when there is a drought. Lift carefully and leave about 5cm (2") of the stalks to prevent bleeding when cooking.
Harvest
June to October.

Beetroot is rich in beta carotene and folic acid.
Handy Tip
If growing for exhibition, lift roots the day before the show and put in salt water for 2 hours to enhance the red colour.
